Michael J. Rappaport
Chief Executive Officer, Founder & Director, Chariot Solutions
Michael Rappaport is primarily responsible for business development, strategic planning and management of company operations. At a high level, he is involved in the management of market planning, personnel, sales, project execution and delivery. In addition, Mr. Rappaport provides support for managers in areas of consulting, technical services and product development.
For more than ten years prior to founding Chariot Solutions, Mr. Rappaport served as Managing Director of Skylight Systems, Inc., a software company he co-founded that specializes in solutions for mid-size and large wholesale distributors. Mr. Rappaport had been with Skylight and ATD-American (Skylight's parent company) for 17 years.
Mr. Rappaport has considerable experience managing development of leading edge accounting and distribution software for a variety of industries and companies. He has led custom development projects for many companies, including Exxon Mobil, Midas, Visteon, GTE, British Petroleum, Temple University Hospital, Merck and McNeil Consumer Products.
Over the past 15 years, Mr. Rappaport has become an accounting and business process automation expert. He has worked with the controllers of numerous firms to define accounting and business rules for implementation of new business systems. He has also designed tools for period-end reconciliation and enhanced financial controls, as well as automated systems to accommodate both transaction and translation based multi-currency operations per the accounting standards set by the Financial Accounting Standards Bureau (FASB).
After leading Skylight for 10 years, Rappaport started Chariot Solutions in 2002. As Chariot's CEO, he has led the company to great success during a particularly challenging economic period. The company has grown significantly in revenue and number of employees in each of its first 5 years.
With Skylight and Chariot, Mr. Rappaport has been responsible for negotiating and closing countless deals with both clients and external partners, including a large number of Fortune 500 companies.
Mr. Rappaport graduated from Drexel University with a B.S. degree in Management of Computerized Information Systems. While at Drexel, Mr. Rappaport also completed all of the requirements of the undergraduate marketing curriculum.
